Aims and Objectives of AEDE
AIMS to be on association for all teachers wishing to work together for the creation of a European Union.
AIMS to widen the teachers knowledge of European issues and to show them the means and methods which can rapidly lead to the creation of a European Union.
ACTS on two levels:
- at a European level through its congress, its committee structures and a programme of international activities
- at a national level through its national sections and regional groups.
COLLABORATES with:
- the European Commission in Brussels .
- the Council of Europe and UNESCO as a Non Governmental Organization ·
- all organizations pursuing the same objectives, such as the European Movement, ESHA [European Secondary Heads Association], ATEE [Association for Teacher Trainers in Europe] and other PLEASE-organizations.
PROPOSES some answers to current questions:
- How to prepare new generations in building the European society of the future?
- How to reinforce the concepts of European identity and citizenship?
- How to promote multilateral partnerships between schools?
- How to emphasize the teaching of languages?
PLACES at your disposal:
- a network of more than 25,000 teachers, heads, inspectors and officials in 18 national sections from nursery school to university
- several periodicals, like CONTEXT, European Education Magazine, AEDE NEWS and Docu ments pour l'Enseignement
- hundreds of reflection texts and pedagogical documents.
ORGANIZES:
- international congresses, from Paris (1956) to Paestum (1995)
- days of study
- national and international seminars.
